3 Feet is gaslighting masquerading as transportation policy

In this episode of Auto Asphyxiation, we examine the “3 Feet” law—a measure portrayed as safety policy, but one that may amount to systemic gaslighting of cyclists. If the goal is to wait for more death data before building bike lanes, the premise is both flawed and cruel. We already know bike lanes save lives. The real questions are more urgent: When will New Jersey move beyond symbolic gestures and invest in real infrastructure—accessible places to ride, why can’t we ride a bike the park in New Jersey? In a no-fault insurance state, cycling without protection risks financial ruin from medical bills. How long must we accept a system that sacrifices safety for the convenience of the car?
